Community College Ministry
by Rev. Milad Nakhla, Campus Minister

I would like to share how God is amazing and working with our Community College Ministry with students in Campus in Shoreline, Everett Community College, and soon at Edmonds Community College. It’s great to see a lot of our young students come and follow Jesus through Bible study and share Jesus with them. As you know we started this ministry in last October, 2010. At that time, God called me to lead this ministry through our church, Calvin Presbyterian Church. I didn’t know anyone at Shoreline Community College. I asked God to help me and open the door for me. I went to the campus and God opened the door for me to know students and some staff on the campus. They helped me and they opened the door for me. I contacted Campus Crusade for Christ. I became a partner with Campus Crusade for Christ. They invited me to work with them in outreach to students on the campus and to lead the bible study and prayer meeting.

Bible study at Everett Community College

Our goals are to help students build a relationship with God, to share Jesus and the good news with them. We invite students to join with us for the Bible study.  This year we have 50 students attending Bible study because they needed to build a relationship with God.  American and international students come together to become true Christians on campus. God is good.

At this time, we have one Bible study every Thursday at Shoreline Community College and a prayer meeting every Tuesday with between 15- 20 students joining us in the Bible study and prayer meeting. At Everett Community College we have two bible studies, held on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a leadership meeting. We have between 40-50 students attending. We also set aside one day every month for outreach and to share Jesus with students on campus. We have shared Jesus with more than 300 students on campus this year.

Also this year, five students came to Christ from different religions.

Last week we finished the spring quarter and God blessed me with more students. We are planning for the fall quarter and I expect more blessings and more students to come to Christ. My vision for next fall is to start a new Bible study at Edmonds Community College. Currently there is no Christian ministry there. Please pray that God opens the door. If you know any students, please let me know so I can contact them.

The Bible study in Shoreline Community College

What we do:
- Share Jesus with students and help them to build a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
- Invite students to join with us every week in the Bible study on campus.
- Invite them to come for dinner every Wednesday to show God’s love for them and fellowship.
- Help students find a place to live with family or a roommate. These students who are looking for housing assistance are from different states or are international students. I am currently assisting 2 students, one is an American girl from Colorado and the other is a girl from Japan. They came to study at Shoreline Community College and have asked me to help them find a assistance from a family. If you can help, please let me know.

What we need:
- The door is still open for everyone to help in the ministry. If God is calling you to work and help, please contact me. Opportunities include hosting students for dinner, inviting a student for bible study in your house, or make a relationship with students. International students need families to surround them.
- We need group of people to support and pray for evangelism, especially for students. We need leaders for a prayer meeting one day every week. If you interested, please contact me.
- We have vision for evangelism, outreach and making relationships with our neighbors by sharing Jesus with them. If you feel calling for this, please contact me.
- Please pray for Community College Ministry. We expect more blessings and more students will come to Christ every day.
