Purpose - The Nominating Committee shall nominate persons to fill all vacancies on continuing committees (except the nominating committee), councils, boards, and other bodies that require election by the presbytery or synod.  Consideration shall be given to the nomination of equal numbers of ministers of the Word and Sacrament, laymen, and laywomen (one third each), except that women elder and men elders shall be nominated to the committee on ministry to which presbytery functions may be delegated.

The Nominating Committee shall consult, at least annually, with the presbytery's committee on representation for the purpose of being advised of any need for nominations in particular categories needing increased representation.


Youth Advisory Delegate (YAD) for the 2010 General Assembly
The future of the church depends upon passing the baton of leadership to the next generation.  One way we can empower young people to lend their voice and their faithful passion to our denomination is through nominating them to serve as a Youth Advisory Delegate (YAD) for the 2010 General Assembly, which will be held in Minneapolis, MN, July 3-10, 2010.

If you know of a talented young person, age 17-23, who has a deep commitment to Christ, a passion for serving the church, a discerning mind, and a maturity of character, you are urged to have them apply to be a YAD.  Click here for YAD Application. Applications are due by December 31, 2009.  All applicants will be interviewed by the NPSP Nominating Committee in January.
